Tales of an Unlicensed Barber

Today I cut my father’s hair for the first time and in the middle of the cut I reminded him, “Just as a disclaimer, I have no idea what I’m doing. You are the only one to blame if you hate your hair.”

Fortunately, other than me nipping my own finger and bleeding on his face, his hair turned out great.

He decided to trust me after my recent spontaneous success with my younger brother, Kyler.

While these turned out, it took me a few tries on JoHockey’s much simpler hair to figure out what the heck I was doing.

Fortunately Josiah has since forgiven me and I’ve continued to cut his hair. The kit cost $30, so we’ve saved roughly… $120 on barber shops?

I consider hair cutting a creative endeavor, and when it comes to creativity, I feel like I’ll play it by ear and figure it out. I just enjoy making things pretty.
